The White House's Hubris

So, the President of the United States had a lot to say about the things his administration were doing for the first time in history. He started off with how he is posting the White House visitor list online, of course, failing to mention the fact that the visitor list was part of the Freedom of Information Act request. He mentioned the "fact" that he locked lobbyists out of the policy making process. Now that was a huge pile of dog squat. Within minutes, several websites listed the two dozen or so lobbyists in the Potentate's Administration--and that was just at the top levels.

The Boy who would be King then proceeded to castigate the Supreme Court in front of a jeering Democratic Congress. The Supreme Court is not a body that should be chastised in front of anybody in the Federal Government. The Judicial Branch, the Supreme Court, is equal in power to the President and Congress! Who the hell are YOU, Mr President, that you think you can call out the Supreme Court!

The “century old Campaign Reform” law that "Our Dear Leader" was talking about is the 1907 Tillman Act. This was the first law to ban corporations from contributing monetarily to national political campaigns. The real reason “The Anointed One” brought this up was not as a swipe at John McCain (via the McCain- Feingold bill), it was because this was one of fellow Progressive Teddy Roosevelt’s legacies.

Then, Barack Obama, President of the United States and Savior of the Universe, decided that he would override the Senate's decision to not pass a bill creating a commission, by issuing an Executive Order to create the commission. Um, What?! Are you kidding me? He doesn't have the authority to override Congress anymore than he does the authority to reprimand the Supreme Court.

Mr President, if you want to continue to play Julius Caesar in the United States of America, then we are going to show you the same door that we showed Richard Nixon. We are not a dictatorship. We are a Republic, and stunts like the ones you pulled at your State of Confusion Wednesday night will not go unanswered.
